Responsible Gambling

The Gambling Act 2003 requires that the operators of gaming machines establish policies and procedures that minimise the harm caused by gambling, and facilitate responsible gambling.

Youthtown has a specific harm minimisation policy to assist all venue staff in Youthtown gaming venues. The policy should be read and reviewed regularly to ensure all staff understand the issues of problem gambling and their responsibilities.

Youthtown is committed to ensuring this policy is followed at all Youthtown gaming venues. We encourage and support robust initiatives to minimise the harm excessive gambling can cause.

All venue staff involved with gaming operations are to be trained in the following information and procedures.

For Venues

Venues can refer to their harm minimisation policy that is held on site. For further guidelines around responsible gambling, click here

For Players

Are you, or is someone you know, a problem gambler?

If you or someone you know has a gambling problem there are many people and organisations who can help. One effective method to help you is to request the manager of the gaming venue provides you with a self-exclusion notice.

Applying for a self-exclusion notice

A self-exclusion notice can be actioned in the following ways:

  • By requesting the venue manager to complete a self-exclusion notice for you. You need to be present during this process and sign the exclusion form. A copy of the form will be given to you. The venue manager has the ability to exclude you (at your request) for up to 2 years from the gaming venue.
  • By downloading the self-exclusion form and completing all your personal information and then deliver or post this to the venue you wish to be excluded from. Click here to download form.
  • Please note that you are requested to provide a good likeness photograph to accompany the exclusion notice. This helps staff identify you.
  • Excluding yourself from the gaming venue does not exclude you from the bar.
